Next Generation Motorsports was established in 2006, when a small group of like-minded motorcycle enthusiasts came together to take on the factory teams in the Australian Superbike Championship. Up until this point, factory supported teams had always dominated the championship, this was Next Gen’s motivation to win and show other privateers that it was possible to take on, and beat the factory teams at their own game.
In 2011 Next Gen dominated the Australian Superbike Championship, winning their first title with one round to go, becoming the first privateer team to do so. The team was able to repeat this feat again in 2014, winning a second Australian Superbike title. Next Gens most recent success was securing the 2017 Australian Supersport Championship with one round to go. Throughout the years, Next Gen has also achieved – 5 Australian Superbike Privateer Championship Titles, 1 Australian Superstock 1000 Title, 1 Australian Supersport Title and a 2nd place in the Australian Supersport championship.
Internationally Next Gen has competed in 3 World Superbike events, 2 at Phillip Island and 1 at Laguna Seca USA as well as competing in 10 rounds of the American Superbike Championship. On top of these national championship series, Next Gen team manager Shane Kinderis was successful as crew chief for Fujitsu Suzuki in the New Zealand Superbike Championship finishing 2nd in 2015 and winning the New Zealand Superbike Title in 2016. Shane has also had great success in the USA and Bolivia as a crew chief and builder of the BMW landspeed bikes of the Hunter Sills Landspeed Racing Team which holds over 24 World and National landspeed racing records.
