This month’s episode of our ‘getting to know’ is turned onto Maxima BMW’s co-owner of the team, Nathan Webb.
Webb, who has been the Managing Director of Zoom Recruitment & Training for the past sixteen years now, began riding motorcycles twenty-seven years ago. He expresses that both motorcycle riding and the running of the Next Gen Motorsports team is his little way of ‘escaping’ from the real world.

Where do you live? Gisborne, in the Macedon Ranges, approximately 54 kilometres north-west of Melbourne.
Day Job: Managing Director of Zoom Recruitment & Training and My Ammo.
Racing achievement you are most proud of: Beating Hepburn at motocross… every time (laughs)
Hidden talent: Drawing
Favourite track and why? Without a doubt has to be the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. It’s fast, following and just so safe. And that view of Bass Straight as you run into Doohan Corner is just second to none.
Favourite sport besides motorcycle racing? Basketball. Can’t get enough of it.
What can’t you live without? My family and training.
Favourite holiday destination? Queenstown, New Zealand. It’s renowned for adventure sports, it’s also a base for exploring the region’s vineyards and historic mining towns as well. Lovely place of the world.
Favourite movie? I would have to say The Shawshank Redemption with the likes of Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins
Favourite TV show? The Footy Show, when it had the likes of Sam Newman and co. It was very entertaining, that’s for sure.
Favourite food? Japanese (Nobu)
If you could be any superhero for one day, who would you be? Long pause… Superman, so I could fly around the world in a few seconds.
What is your favourite type of music/band or artist? I don’t really have a favourite band or type of music; however, I do like Calvin Harris and David Guetta.
Greatest inspiration and why: Tony Robbins. He has impacted so many people’s lives, not only mentally but spiritually and also feeds so many starving people around the globe.
Who is your racing hero? Marc Márquez! He just steps up and dominates.
Pub crawl or dinner for two? Dinner for two with my lovely wife.
If you could spend a day with any motorcycle racer, past or present, who would it be and why? Márquez. It would be very interesting to see what he does away from the race track and how he is in real life away from the spot the light of everything. Think he would be a cool person to be around and see how he goes about his life.
Two stroke or four strokes? Four strokes. They are easier to ride!
Blonde or brunette? Blonde. I have to say blonde, as my wife is blonde…
Beach Boys or Elvis? Beach Boys, California girls.
Speedway or Motocross? Motocross. I just believe there is more skills required.
MotoGP or WorldSBK? MotoGP without a doubt. They are pure race machines with the best riders in the world aboard them.
Who is the most famous person you have in your phone contacts? Andy Grammer, an American singer, songwriter, and record producer.
